Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the PageShot Chrome extension handles information when a user captures and edits a web page.

Summary

PageShot processes captured website content locally on the user's device. It does not transmit that content to the developer or to third parties. PageShot does not use accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking or cloud synchronization.

Information PageShot handles

When a user explicitly starts a capture, PageShot temporarily processes the visible content of the active web page, including content reached while automatically scrolling the page. The resulting screenshot may contain any information displayed on that page.

PageShot treats the page as image pixels. It does not inspect, classify or extract names, email addresses, passwords, payment information, browsing history or other categories of information from the screenshot.

How the information is used

The captured website content is used solely to provide PageShot's user-facing purpose: creating a full-page screenshot and allowing the user to crop, annotate, pixelate, copy or export it.

Local processing and retention

Captured image tiles and edits are held locally in browser memory while the capture and editor session are active. PageShot does not upload them to a server and does not retain a cloud copy. Temporary capture data is discarded when it is no longer needed by the active session.

If the user downloads an image or PDF, or copies an image to the clipboard, that output is saved or handled by the user's browser and operating system under the user's control.

Information collection and sharing

The developer does not receive, collect, sell, rent or share captured website content or usage information. PageShot contains no analytics SDK, advertising SDK or third-party tracking service.

Permissions

PageShot does not request host permissions, browsing-history access, storage permissions or permanent access to websites.

Remote code and external services

PageShot does not execute remotely hosted code. All executable code is included in the extension package. It does not depend on an external service to capture, edit or export a screenshot.

Security

Keeping captured content on the user's device reduces exposure to external systems. Users remain responsible for reviewing screenshots and pixelating sensitive information before sharing exported files.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

PageShot's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information handled through browser permissions is used only to provide or improve PageShot's single user-facing purpose.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if PageShot's functionality or legal obligations change. The latest version will remain available at this URL and will show its effective date at the top.
